THE 3 RACES OF THE DELICIOUS FESTIVAL
The Delicious Festival includes three races: the Delicious Trail Dolomiti, the Short Delicious Trail Dolomiti, and the Medium Delicious Trail. This is the sixth edition of the first two races, and the first edition of the Medium.
The queen race of the event, the Delicious Trail Dolomiti, starts from Cortina and winds its way over approximately 43 kilometers and 3,100 meters of elevation gain, passing by Pocol, Croda del Lago, the 5 Torri, Nuvolau, Lagazuoi, and Passo Falzarego. An experience that offers rich opportunity for cultural discovery. In fact, the route crosses through the largest open-air museum in the Alps, following the traces of the Great War, which left deep scars on the valleys and cliffs in this part of the Dolomites.
The Short Delicious Trail Dolomiti starts from Pocol and follows a shorter route, of about 22 kilometers and 1,300 meters of elevation gain. The Medium Delicious Trail starts from Alta Badia, at the finish area of the Alpine Ski World Cup’s Gran Risa run in La Villa, and tackles a 30-kilometer course with 1,900 meters of elevation gain. From La Villa the itinerary follows the picturesque “Path of the Artists,” which leads to San Cassiano before starting to climb toward the central plateau and the Störes meadows. From here a long descent takes the runners to Armentarola and the gates of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park, where the trail turns toward Lagazuoi.
For all the races, the finish is in Pocol, which hosts the event’s big final party.
