THE EVENT
The Enrosadira Trail is a brand-new addition to the mountain running scene in the Dolomites. The race organized by the Alta Badia Tourism Cooperative and the Unione Sportiva La Val, which debuts in October 2026 with three different routes (20 km with 1,250 m elevation gain; 40 km with 2,450 m elevation gain; and 55 km with 3,400 m elevation gain), is an event hosted literally in the world of fairy tales.
According to a Ladin folk tale, the eastern group of the Monti Pallidi was once home to the kingdom of the Fanes and their colorful rose gardens. As a result of a betrayal, the kingdom fell, leaving the sun, as it sets over Val Badia, to reflect the pink and reddish hues of the flowers still nestled among the rocks.
Running on these trails means exploring an area where time seems to have stood still.
In the Sas dla Crusc group, whatever your pace, you’ll be immersed in the silence and majesty of the larch forests, colored in gold for fall, along with the beauty of the traditional “Les Viles” settlements and the Rit meadows.
The start is in the piazza in La Val — the first certified “European Hiking Village” in South Tyrol — under the towering Cima Nove and Cima Dieci.
Once the clock starts, there’s no mercy. You’ll face a wild and at times demanding landscape with continuous ups and downs, where the high elevations conceal intriguing challenges.
Whether you decide to extend your racing season or simply enjoy a run at an easy pace, the colors of the golden hour and the alpenglow will reward you.
