MARIANNE FATTON – A YOUNG TALENT RACING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS

Always be wary of appearances. Behind that sweet smile and that shy look hides a champion with pure class. A young woman who knows how to suffer on the climbs and be bold on the descents and is relentless in the transitions. She’s someone who sets her sights on a goal … and is certain to reach it. That’s right. At just 26 years old, the Swiss athlete Marianne Fatton, a student with the dream of becoming a teacher, has already won an overall World Cup and a sprint world championship title.

BIOGRAPHY

It must be the air in the village of Charmey, in the Canton of Fribourg, where another of the stars of the Swiss national team was born and raised as well: Rémi Bonnet. Or maybe it’s that the blood of a mother who competed in the Olympics in cross-country skiing for the Czech Republic runs in her veins. The fact is that the lovely Marianne, who started as a biathlete and then switched to ski mountaineering, has what it takes to dream of an Olympic future in the sport she loves.

Her passion for the mountains is wide-ranging: in the winter she’s on skis and skins, in the summer in skyrunning shoes. 365 days a year ... always on the go.
