Mountain Training – Virginia De Martin


Running is a fundamental component of a cross-country skier’s summer training. It provides an excellent workout and allows for great variety: from intervals on the track, to long hikes in the mountains, to easy cool-down runs.

For me, running is much more than a way to boost my fitness level. It creates a private space in which I can let my thoughts flow and enjoy nature. I love running in the mountains, where I enjoy the solitude, silence and breathtaking views. It’s my favorite way to be alone and reconnect to my roots: in that intimate space, everything finds its place again.
