OUR COMMITMENT TO PREFERRED MATERIALS
At Karpos, we’ve increased our use of preferred-origin fabrics and technologies (bio-based, recycled, and recyclable) in developing our new collections, thus reducing the impact on the environment, animals, and people compared to the (fossil fuel–based) alternatives commonly adopted in the manufacturing industry.
The preference for responsibly sourced materials has been guiding our research and development activities since the design of the Spring/Summer 2021 collection, with the aim of ensuring the “responsible performance” of our products. Our commitment starts with sharing the “Recycle, Reuse, Rethink” approach to the development of new collections promoted by MVC Group and is made possible thanks to the evolution of our network of suppliers, who are committed to offering more sustainable solutions.
RECYCLED COMPONENTS IN THE FALL / WINTER 25 COLLECTION
The use of fabrics containing recycled materials (even if only in part) allows for a reduced environmental impact compared to that generated by new production, in terms of water and energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions — all while maintaining unchanged the technical characteristics of the original material. This is especially true for polyamide and polyester, materials that provide high durability, stretch, and breathability.
In developing the Fall/Winter 25 collection, we focused on the origin of the technical fabrics derived from the combination of these high-performance components, replacing virgin material with mechanically recycled material where possible.
Overall, 56% of the main materials of our jackets, 55% of fleeces, and 22% of our pants contain recycled fabrics. In particular, more than one-third of our jackets and fleeces feature a 100% recycled main material, with a minimum estimated volume of more than 50% of the total garment.
In addition, starting with the Fall/Winter 25 collection, 85% of the zipper pulls on our fleeces, jackets, and pants are 100% recycled.
Finally, as announced already in 2021, we also use 100% recycled packaging materials for garments shipped from Asia and Europe.
At Karpos, we consider the development of future collections with the attention to detail that has always distinguished us, along with an increasingly tangible commitment to the circularity of our products.
RECYCLED FABRICS FAQ
How are our fabrics recycled?
The recycled fabrics used in the main components of our garments are primarily mechanically recycled. This method, which is preferred when the secondary raw material is composed of a single high-quality material, involves the following phases: collection, separation (mechanical or manual), shredding, washing, grinding, drying, and granulation, until a product is obtained that can be used in a second production cycle. These pellets are then, through an extrusion process, converted into thin filaments and then into fibers.
How can I recognize Karpos garments containing recycled fabrics?
Beginning with the Fall/Winter 25 collection, garments with 100% recycled main material can be identified by the special cardboard label certifying their origin.

How can I dispose of Karpos garments to facilitate their recycling?
Consumers play a key role in the correct disposal of garments, which in many cases are also recyclable and can therefore have a further use within the circular economy.
Starting in 2026, it will be mandatory for all producers, within the scope of the extended producer responsibility provided for by EU legislation, to offer a collection and sorting service for used garments (take back). The products will be collected by an external service provider and recycled, ready to be reused for a new production cycle.
