Wear more - wash less
High-intensity effort or high temperatures often lead to increased sweating. Bacteria on our skin then feed on the mix of water, mineral salts, and waste substances that our bodies excrete through our pores, and as they ferment in the fabric, they can produce the acidic sweat responsible for bad odors.
Polygiene StayFresh™ antibacterial technology prevents bacteria from growing on textiles so they don’t smell. This treatment is based on silver chloride, a salt that is naturally present in water and soil. The silver ions in the salt make it impossible for the bacteria responsible for bad smells to multiply, stopping odor in its tracks. Polygiene StayFresh is only active in the fabric itself, so it doesn’t interfere with any natural bacteria on the skin. No more bacteria, no more odor!
The absence of odor allows for prolonged use of the garment, while restoring a pleasant, long-lasting feeling of freshness and reducing the number of washings needed after use.
According to the most recent life-cycle assessment (LCA) of Polygiene® products, the reduced washing requirement can decrease environmental impact by 33%. Specifically, for each garment it is possible to save 51 kWh of electricity and 3,800 liters of water per year, in addition to CO2 emissions due to machine washing (325 to 1,950 g per wash cycle).
At Karpos, we have opted for Polygiene® StayFresh technology for high-performance first and second layers. Our base layers, T-shirts, and lightweight fleeces for men & women with this treatment stay fresh even after prolonged use, allowing you to focus on your goal, whatever it may be, without compromise!
