A strengthened partnership between two top names in the world ok ski mountaineering

The collaboration launched in 2015 between Karpos and Transcavallo, the team ski mountaineering race now in its 36th edition, will continue.

Karpos and Transcavallo share a commitment to an event that takes place among the mountains of Alpago, in the province of Belluno. Transcavallo represents the essence of modern ski mountaineering, where safety, experience and performance are the key elements of an event that every year sees around 100 teams compete on the steep couloirs and exposed ridges of the Alpago mountains.

These are three values that Karpos embraces and incorporates into the development and production of its products. In addition to being a partner of this historic Italian ski mountaineering competition, Karpos is also the official supplier of race suits for the ski club that organizes the event.

The Alpago region and the Piancavallo ski area have become a privileged destination for ski mountaineering competitions. Alpago hosted the World Championships in 2017, the European Championships in 2009, and three World Cup events, in 2004, 2011 and 2016.

The team ski mountaineering race will take place over three stages. Following the established format, athletes will reach Piancavallo at the end of the first stage and spend the night in a hotel before setting off again the following morning towards the finish at Col Indes. The third stage will start and finish at Col Indes.

Alongside the race, the second edition of the Transcavallo Classic will take place. This non-competitive event, more of a gathering than a race, will welcome a maximum of 50 participants, accompanied by mountain guides. They will set off ahead of the competitors and receive a special welcome along the route and at the mountain huts involved in the event.

This will give participants the opportunity to relive the moments that laid the foundations for Transcavallo, when, many years ago, the pioneers of ski mountaineering set off from Alpago towards Piancavallo.
