MANRICO DELL'AGNOLA

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Agordo in 1959, Manrico Dell'Agnola showed his love for the mountains and climbing when he was very young, even if he didn’t start to climb until age 20. His great passion for climbing quickly led to outstanding results, both in Italy and abroad, and the need to capture those magical moments was what brought him to photography. He subsequently became one of the most respected mountain photographers. His first solo climbs date to 1981, and that same year he climbed El Capitan via the Nose route and was the first Italian to climb many other routes in Yosemite and Colorado. Since then, he has collected thousands of routes throughout the world, but his heart is in the Dolomites, where he still spends time. Manrico now lives in Mel, where he pursues his activities as a creative (the Karpos name and logo were his inspiration), member of the Club Alpino Accademico Italiano, writer and photographer. For him, climbing is still the most important thing.
