THE PARTNERSHIP
Karpos and the German national ski mountaineering federation, the Deutscher Alpenverein (DAV), have entered into a technical partnership through April 30, 2030.
The two organizations have inked a four-year agreement, when the French Alps will host the sport’s second Olympic appearance. The national team aims to secure a historic first medal on that occasion.
In addition to the race suit — which, in previous iterations, Karpos has supplied to six national teams since 2007 — the junior and senior squads will test the Alagna training line, contributing to the further development of highly technical products that set the standard in the market.
The Karpos commitment to ongoing testing by top athletes supports the continuous development of lighter and more versatile products that benefit skimo enthusiasts at all levels.
3 PILLARS FOR THE GROWTH OF THE MOVEMENT
Resilience, freedom of movement, safety. Three values that were sacred in mountaineering in days gone by and that Karpos and DAV have always continued to embrace. The new partnership is based on these three pillars and is represented by the organizations’ respective logos, the handprint of a gecko and the edelweiss — both organisms that have adapted to live in challenging environments.
The vision for the collaboration is grounded in shared, concrete objectives that go beyond mere symbolism, with the aim of supporting the expansion and growth of a sport that is already poised to raise its profile.
“We are truly excited to embark on this new journey alongside Skimo Team Germany,” said Alessio Cremonese, executive president of MVC Group. "Our experience in supplying other national ski mountaineering teams, combined with the planning of the Deutscher Alpenverein staff, will allow us to explore new opportunities. We are eager to see where this journey together takes us.”
