The Enrosadira Trail is a brand-new addition to the mountain running scene in the Dolomites. Organised by the Alta Badia Tourist Cooperative and the La Val Sports Association, this inaugural event in October 2026 – featuring three different routes (20 km – 1,250 m elevation gain; 40 km – 2,450 m elevation gain; 55 km – 3,400 m elevation gain) – is an event set in a fairy-tale world, quite literally.
 
According to a Ladin folk tale, the eastern range of the ‘Pallid Mountains’ once housed the kingdom of the Fanes and their colourful rose gardens. Following an act of betrayal, the kingdom is said to have fallen, leaving the sun to still reflect, at sunset over the Val Badia, the pink and reddish hues of the flowers still nestled amongst the rocks.
 
Running along these trails means exploring a landscape where time seems to have stood still.
 
Along the Sas dla Crusc range, silence reigns, along with the majesty of the golden larch in the depths of autumn. These elements accompany you constantly, at the pace you choose, as does the beauty of the traditional ‘viles’ and the Prati del Rit.
 
The start is in the square in La Val – the first certified ‘European Hikers’ Village’ in South Tyrol – with Cima Nove and Cima Dieci in the background.

Once you’ve pressed the start button, there’s no letting up. A wild and, at times, demanding landscape awaits you, characterised by a constant series of ups and downs, where the steep gradients conceal intriguing challenges.
 
Whether you decide to extend the racing season or simply enjoy a ride at a more leisurely pace, the colours of the golden hour and the enrosadira will make it all worthwhile.
